Here we are! It's February and it's time for the February Cleanse!

Welcome back to those of you who have participated in previous years and welcome to those of you who are taking on this endeavour for the first time.

What is the February Cleanse?

At this time of year we can feel out of balance. Cold dark nights have been good reason to curl up on the couch: dinner at the coffee table, pasta, cheese, bread and butter, a glass of wine, and an HBO television series. This is winter in Canada! As we begin to notice the slightly longer days in February (5:30pm and it isn't dark!) we remember March and there is a sense of movement in the air towards spring. Yet those heavy winter habits can be hard to change.

The February Cleanse is to help motivate us to change the patterns that cause us to feel out of balance by giving us a structure to work with; and with the support of others who are also motivated to make some changes in their diet and life.

Here are the details:
  • 5-Day Early Morning Practise: Monday, February 3rd to Friday, February 7th: 7:00 am – 8:30 am at Living Yoga & Health
  • commitment to a month of wise and healthy eating, including eliminating red meat, dairy, gluten, sugar, caffeine and alcohol: February 1st – 28th
  • encouragement to let go of the unskillful patterns in our life that pull us out of balance
  • on-going support and connection throughout the month
  • a final early morning yoga and meditation practice followed by breakfast (provided): Friday, February 28th: 7:00 am – 8:30 am
